Lt. Halsey Nisula – Navigator
Only Crew Member Left Behind – MIA
The following e-mails are from Halsey's great neices. They discovered the book after doing a Google search for Halsey. We were immediately contacted and many e-mails and phone calls were exchanged.
Dear Ken,
I just finished reading Last Roll Call. It was so wonderful to read! What a thrill it was to read about the men that Halsey spent the War with. It was so interesting to know what Halsey went through and what his duties were during a mission.
I grew up visiting the family cemetery every Memorial Day and placing flags on my mysterious Uncle Halsey’s memorial plaque. Now, because of your book, I actually feel like I know who this family hero was. It makes me happy to know that he was the kind of guy that I had always thought he was, much like my own grandfather. So thank you, thank you for sharing your stories and feeling about my Great-Uncle Halsey, long lost but never forgotten.

Dear Mr. Tucker,
I have just finished reading your memoir and I want to thank you. I was moved to tears by your story. Because of your book, I now know that the pride my family always felt for my Great-Uncle Halsey is justified. The words you used to describe Halsey have brought me closer to him and could be used to describe my grandfather, my father and my brothers. They are all so much alike.
I am filled with pride for a man who I never knew, but whose blood runs through my veins. I am so happy that I will be able to share with my future children the legacy of a hero in our family. Thank you Mr. Tucker for writing it all down.
